Leo Burnett won the ‘Best Use of Mobile Advertising’ for its work on a unique health awareness campaign, Donate Your Caller Tune For A Cause (DYCT) for World Health Organization Country Office for India at the Yahoo Big Idea Chair Awards 2013.

‘Donate your caller tune’ is a pilot initiative for which prominent celebrities have lent their voice to create simple effective health messages. A symbolic ‘donation’ is made when people give up their regular caller tunes, replacing them with any one of these health awareness messages or subscribe to ‘Donate your caller tune’. The donation, therefore, is not asking a user for funds, but simply that s/he changes/donates or subscribes to a caller tune with a health related message O.

One can easily download the message of a favourite celebrity and use it as a caller tune on one’s own mobile handset.

Speaking about ideation of this campaign, Mr. Piyush Gupta, Creative Director, Leo Burnett India, said, “Our idea was to reach out to the urban Indians with creative messages for adopting a healthy lifestyle. On an average a person receives at least 15 phone calls a day, making the space of caller tune an untapped area for promoting welfare causes. It was important that we tapped this innovative medium, and this was made possible by WHO India by adopting this idea. Remake of Sholay in 3D had diffcuilty

As the release of Sholay in 3D is around the corner, Maya Digital Studios, who did the coversion of movie from 2D-3D exclaims that the scene where Hema Malini is trying to pluck mangoes was the most difficult scene for 3D conversion.

The conversion of Hema Malini’s shot in 3D with the background of numerous mango trees was the most challenging task for this premier animation and visual effects studio.

“One of the most complicated frames from the film is, where Hemaji is standing in a jungle. When we speak about depth and 3D, each individual portion is a separate layer, with its own depth. From her nose, to the hair, to the flexed hand, to each and every tree, to every leaf of each tree become a separate layer which has to be pulled out individually and then composited together to form a 3D frame with the right depth, making this scene the most difficult scene to be converted in 3D,” said Mr. Ketan Mehta, MD & Chairman, Maya Digital Studios.

Maya digital Studios have made an optimum effort to do full justice in the final 3D output of Sholay as the legendary movie in original.

Incredible India Announces Short-Film Contest For Travellers

Incredible India, an initiative by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in association with content-based digital solutions provider Trivone Digital Services Pvt. Ltd., has launched a short film contest for travellers to promote tourism by depicting pristine destinations within the country.

The contest, open to both Indians and foreign nationals, aims to promote unexplored destinations, encourage visitors to share their travel adventures. Anyone who loves travelling and capturing those moments can upload travel videos of less than 3 minutes’ duration, on the Pixel13 (www.pixel13.in) website to showcase the best of their experiences.

Contestants have to be aged 18 or above to participate in this free online contest by completing a simple Registration Form on the website. Thereafter, they are free to upload the short films, which will be judged a high-powered jury combined with an online poll, which will be initiated once the call for entries closes down.

The short-film adjudged as the ‘Best Film’ based on the online poll and jury will receive a prize worth Rs.50000 (Rupees Fifty Thousand Only) sponsored by the Hospitality Partners Royal Orchid Hotels.

Speaking about the campaign Founder & CEO of Trivone, Mr. L. Subramanyan, says, “We are happy to join hands with Incredible India to promote Indian tourist destinations globally.
